Field visit
My field visit to Krishnapuram Palace was truly an enriching experience. N
estled in the serene town of Kayamkulam, the palace instantly captivated me with its historical charm and architectural elegance. This beautiful structure, dating back to the 18th century, reflects traditional Kerala architecture with its sloping tiled roof, narrow corridors, and intricate wooden carvings. we explored the palace, I was fascinated by the various exhibits and artifacts that offered a glimpse into the region’s rich history. The palace is home to an impressive collection of ancient paintings, sculptures, and bronze artifacts, each telling its own story. One of the highlights was the famous "Gajendra Moksha" mural, one of the largest and most detailed murals in Kerala, portraying a powerful scene from Hindu mythology.
Walking through the palace rooms, I could almost feel the presence of history and imagine life as it might have been centuries ago. The lush gardens surrounding the palace added to the peaceful ambiance, making the entire visit even more memorable. This field visit not only deepened my appreciation for Kerala's cultural heritage but also left me with a sense of pride and wonder about our history.
